Minneapolis, Minn. (June 27, 2012) – Testament to the kind of relationship Star fosters with its clients is the pro bono work they do for Gilda’s Club Twin Cities, part of a nationwide network of “clubhouses” supporting cancer patients and their families. With the advent of a Gilda’s Club opening in the Twin Cities by the end of 2012, former client Laurie Walker approached Star with a request for help. Walker and her team needed compelling table displays of their iconic red door and the woman who inspired the birth of the organization–Gilda Radner of Saturday Night Live fame. These displays were to help create emotional resonance by symbolizing Gilda’s Club as an entrance to an environment of hope, healing and humor. Star enthusiastically donated its time, resources and production of 100 displays reflecting the brand’s open door mission. “Because of the great creativity you brought to the table, you helped us exceed our goals and raise over $1 million at various events over the last year” said Walker. “Star is one of the very best.”

Star has a long history of helping clients, both current and past, prosper. They also know a worthy cause when they see one. “Working with Gilda’s Club has been a rewarding experience for us; everyone who touched this project did it with great care and pride. We can’t wait to do more for them.” notes Star’s creative director Justin Dworak.

Gilda’s Club Twin Cities continues to honor Gilda Radner’s legacy by offering a safe and hopeful haven for families dealing with the ubiquitous issues of cancer. Each of the 57 clubhouses are individually owned and operated as part of a well-established national affiliation. It is a place where people can feel safe to share their stories, have a little fun and receive the social, emotional and psychological care that isn’t always readily available. Based on similar community models, it’s estimated that two to three thousand people will walk through the Twin Cities’ red door on an annual basis.
